Prokofiev violin concerto 1 watercolor painting 46,6 x 100 cm. Listening to this violinconcerto which I learned to know while pregnant of my first daughter it takes me into the weak green colors of the left of the painting.
Normally the first movement of a painting has a lot of spirit and is rather an uptempo piece. Not with this concerto. Prokofiev changed this to the second movement wich is very different from the first. It also has more harsh harmonies which I see in this vibrant pink color.
It all comes together with the third movement where you regocnize the atmosphere of the first movement again. I saw more deep purples, browns and gold in this movement. I combined them with the green from the first movement.
This painting has a lively surface with lots of texture to represent the changing regimes in Russia from the Tsar through the oktober revolution into communism.
