‘Have it your way’. An abstract painting that could make you think of Kandinsky. A different painting of mine, ‘Sailing’ I often get remarks on that it makes people think of Kandinsky also. I like Kandinsky but am not extremely inpspired by him so that I like to create similar paintings. Something I am inspired by is the life stories of artists like him, especially in the time he lived in. So many things happened in those times on all artfronts.
‘Have it your way’ was created a quarter turn to the right. My main goal was to put all the characters of his name in this painting, which I did. Some charactes are easily detected, others you will have to give it a longer look. It’s also the geometrical forms I like to make in abstract paintings.
Something I often do with abstract paintings is looking for the strongest side, to my opinion. For that reason I decided to sign it on the backside so you can have your way with it, hence the name:’Have it your way’.
Somthing I very much like about this painting are the fresh colors, also a wink to the primary colors.
