Care for you is an abstract painting in three colors, blue, red and pink. All the nuances in color you see come from these three only.
Care for you started as an abstract drawing of a golfer. I made a video about it which you can see on my youtube channel. This painting was made with a quarter turn to the right, so in landscape mode.
The way I work is that mostly after the first layer, when it has to dry , I step back and watch it. I ask myself, what do I see, what is it that I see? Is it becoming what I had in mind. Mostly that’s the way, but with abstracts it’s also very refreshing to turn the painting in every way possible. Sometimes you suddenly see a very much more interesting side of what you just made.
With ‘Care for you’ that was the case. And I suddenly saw a mother with a child kind of theme (with a very stylized breast you could say).
Pink is normally not the color I tend to work with but I bought paint by a Korean Brand: Mijello, Mission Gold, where artists speak highly of and I was very curious of what my reaction to this paint would be. Care for you as abstract painting in three colors are colors that go well togehter. The blue and red will mix to a purple and the pink wont disturb this into some muddy creation, so I could easily add it to them.
This painting comes with a black mat around it. You can easily change this because the paper is glued with gentle tape.
